Orzo pasta bursting with italian fowl and vegges bathed in a creamy parmesan tomato sauce to your table in only over 30 minutes and all made in a single pot! 

This Italian chook and Orzo Pasta recipe is one of those food you crave lengthy after your remaining chew.  even though it is an clean one pot meal, it ranks proper up there with my sun-Dried Tomato Pasta, Italian Meatball Skillet, and Tortellini Al Forno which require some extra steps.

Chicken Orzo Pasta Recipe

Creamy Parmesan tomato bathed orzo, juicy hen, tender crisp veggies and greater freshly grated Parmesan.  I’m so in love.

And don’ t you just like it while you delectable cravings show up to be easy to make AND clean to smooth up?  That doesn’t appear frequently sufficient for me, besides in the case of sluggish Cooker food (i like you!), so i\'m more giddy over this couldn’t-be-any-extra-scrumptious One Pot Italian bird and Orzo.

Chicken Orzo Pasta Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 chicken breasts chopped into bite size (approx.1 pound)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons pesto, divided
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup zucchini, quartered
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 14.5 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish (optional):

  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • fresh parsley

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Warmth olive oil in a massive NONSTICK pan over medium high heat until particularly warm. Toss bird with 1 tablespoon pesto and upload to pan along side onions, carrots and zucchini. Sauté for 3 minutes then add pink bell pepper, orzo and garlic and cook a further 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in beaten tomatoes, 2 tablespoons pesto, fowl broth, chook bouillon and seasonings. deliver to a simmer, cover and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer for 8-12 minutes, or till vegetables and orzo are tender, stirring each 5 minutes so the orzo doesn’t burn, masking pot after each stir.
  3. Stir in Parmesan cheese. taste and season with extra salt and pepper if preferred. Garnish with sparkling Parmesan and parsley (elective).
